Fund raiser smashes target in super quick time for electric assist outdoor wheelchair

A family from Pendle in Lancashire trying to raise funds to support the purchase of an e-assisted Mountain Trike wheelchair - the ePush, have smashed their fundraising target.

George, who turns 18 on New Year's Eve has a mental and physical disability meaning he struggles with his mobility and can't walk far. The family love nothing more than getting outside together have found it increasingly difficult as George gets older and heavier and his current buggy is no longer suitable.

Understandably George's family didn't want him missing out so when they found the ePush all terrain wheelchair from Mountain Trike they knew it would be the solution to help them carry on living and enjoying their outdoor lifestyle.

George's Dad, Craig said, "The ePush Mountain Trike will transform George's life. It will let him explore the countryside with us, join in on adventures, and enjoy the independence every young man deserves".

Named 'E Wheels for George', the family set up a gofundme page in the hope that at some point they'd be able to secure enough funds to buy George his dream e-Trike.

Craig and his two younger son's, Sam (15) and Oliver (11) have set themselves a challenge and are cycling 150 miles from Leeds to Liverpool along the canal in just one day to help towards the fund raiser.

However, thanks to the huge support and generosity of the public they've already smashed their target!  But this won't stop the trio from taking on this challenge which they'll be doing in December - the family have been overwhelmed by the generosity and speed with which the money was raised - so are fuelled even more to complete the challenge they have set themselves!

The family arranged a demo to test ride the ePush and to ensure it fitted in their car so they can travel and explore further afield. The ePush all terrain wheelchair lived up to its name and the family were thrilled with the performance and are excited about their future outdoor adventures together.

The first big trip with George and his new ePush, will be to the top of Pendle Hill on New Year's Eve to celebrate George's 18th Birthday!

This is a fantastic story and highlights how funding is a very real opportunity to make dreams come true!
